Discarding Storage Containers
It's a rainy Saturday morning. Quiet and calm, but not inviting to go out at all.
Somebody might feel upset with such weather but not me…ok, not now.
This is the perfect weather to stay at home and start decluttering session!
Yes, today I'm discarding storage containers.
These storage containers are here for weeks. During decluttering I discard unnecessary items but keep their storages. Wt least until I'm sure I will not use them for other things I remained.
But turned out I had so many storage containers! I piled them up for a while - and this "a while" lasts for several months for now. I think it's just right time to get rid of this clutter.
What storage containers I discard today?
Well, not all will be discarded. My target for today are only that 3 pieces on the photo, just to release the space. I still will keep some - better quality – until I'm sure I will not need them too… oh, that's so typical logic for me. But it's not easy to discard everything at once, so I'm trying to progress how I can, move at least by baby steps.
1) Paper storage box
I used to keep my underwear there. But after a few rounds of decluttering suddenly sufficient space in the wardrobe drawer appeared, and everything managed to fit there. That's a good news! Seems we wil not need this box any longer, so I just discard it.
2) Empty trash bin
That may be funny that I used it as storage container too. I kept my belts collection there. Recently I discarded most of that collection (it's in the post Decluttering Belts)… just because I didn't need them. Other belts were relocated to more appropriate storage, and trash bin was standing empty.
3) Plastic drawer cupboard
I removed most of the drawers from the cupboard and I used as storage trays. It has already done a good job, so I can discard remaining of the cupboard with no regret. (P.S. After taking photo I still managed to use the remaining drawer!)
And that's it for today! It's just several pieces less, but they were bulky enough to notice that now room became a bit more spacious.
Thanks to rainy weather encouraging to do this since the morning:-)
